Few days ago while I was covering JIS Music Showcase, I was asked how I came to do stage photography. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this to anyone before . When I first started, as like most ppl, I tried all; macro,landscape,wedding and I chanced upon shooting a show from backstage, I wasn’t impressed with what I got that nite. So I fired some questions to a local pro photographer for advice since this person had shot concerts before. I was answered the first time and …my subsequent questions gathered no response. Kinda made me feel guilty from even asking lol. Oh well, I was even more determined to figure out stage/concert photography, intrigued by the secrecy of stage photography lol . I put the other types of photography into hibernation mode pronto, wasn’t about to budge without producing something I can be proud of showing to my friends, took me awhile!
