Covered an event @ the Grand Hall again last week, great ambiance for the gala nite, and took lots of great images.

I’m only comfortable with showing some from the nite, better some than none right ;P. I’m currently wrapping up my edit of pictures taken for a recent engagement event and had just finished with pictures taken for a maternity portraiture. Just so I still have a life left, I always allow myself a two week period to complete my editing; it’s either that or I’ll be overwhelmed with meetings, researching or out there shooting and working till the late morning (then I have to charge my client double for overtime haha). And depending on the kind of shoot, an hour of photography may take more than 5 hrs of my time editing.

I did my first maternity shoot a week ago, since this was my first I spent a tremendous amount of time doing my homework {yes we have to do our homework too } and I also went to do a lengthy consultation to find out what kind of pictures they have in mind AND especially what they DO NOT like…let’s just say that I’m glad I did just that. One of the worst things to happen is a mismatched of expectations for clients. No two photographers are the same; we all have different styles; we’re inspired by different things/people; we don’t read the same books; watch the same tv; grow up in the same environment etc and hence there’s very little chance we’ll come out with the same images even in the same exact spot. The pictures from this shoot, I printed some from my ’10 -ink’ printer onto fine art photo paper, the black and white are just astounding…CK and A&F black and white ads came to mind! Never seen anything like that. The images from this shoot are hands down some of the very best I’ve ever taken in this 2 years plus. A very satisfying session! Now looking forward to the baby shoot hopefully next week and I’ve got few props flown in, express, should be here right on time.

Happy Energy Hair Show on 8th January

I had a blast covering this event at my favourite venue – the Grand Hall of The Empire Hotel. Also what an experience witnessing how things unfolded behind the scenes for this massive event; with extremely talented hairstylists in action and wild hairstyles you only see on tvs and magazines. To sum it up, itwas pure brilliance when everything just materialised the way as planned. It was a real pleasure working with everyone from Adison Marketing Services, thank you for having me as the photographer. Glad to see we even have visitors from neighbouring countries coming for the Hair Show and a good turn out.

Time for me to give credit where credit is due: Adison Marketing Services did a brilliant job managing the Hair Show with great people supporting. Some of the services they provide are advertising & promotion, marketing research, web design & development, event management; you can find out more about them here. The beautiful dresses and accessories of the nite were from Deseo Boutique, drop by their place @ Regent Square and their fan page. Kudos to Vincci, Cartino Sonea, Joyland and Ranoadidas too.

Event coverage The Grand Hall

I had guests coming over from KL for a meeting last Saturday and then spent most of the day taking them around Bandar. Switched to Work Mode once I dropped them off at Empire Hotel in the evening. Till then I had only done a quick day event at The Grand Hall, it’s always exciting when it’s a new unfamiliar venue. Upon stepping into the Grand Hall, Oh hello! Classy arrangements! This place just clicks with me and is my new favourite venue; good ambience, gorgeous stage lighting, spaceous for me to move around swiftly, I can’t fault it. Overall it was a brilliant Annual Dinner organised by TOTAL. Great entertainments from a Singaporean artist, local entertainers including the gorjas Fairuzneezan.

Been busy with corporate and possibly a commercial shoot coming up, we’ll see how that one turns out If my work is selected amongst the entries from all over the world, it’ll appear in a calendar.
